Jefferson designed courthouse has stood the test of time.

The Charlotte County courthouse, c. 1824. Designed by Thomas Jefferson, the exterior of the building is largely as originally constructed. The rear of the building was modified in the 1850's, and the interior saw a number of changes over the years, the biggest change being wrought in the 1960's when much of the interior was replaced.
