The Dickinson Memorial Library, c. 1898, stands on the site where Dickinson Fort stood in the early 18th century, built as a protection from Indians. It is a handsome Romanesque Revival built of granite and limestone. The architect was H.M. Francis, builder was a Mr. Littlehale of Fitchburg.
