One of the most basic architectural expressions connoting the importance of an interior space, the dome elevates and expands the volume of space. Used in building design for centuries, the domes may add to small spaces or very large spaces. They provide an opportunity to add light that serves to inspire when seen from within, and serves as a beacon when seen from without.

Doorways - portals through which one moves, changing from inside to outside, private to public, protected to exposed. Wood, stile-and-rail, raised panel, recessed panel, wrought iron, glazed, arched, grained, louvered, painted, stained, ornate, plain - all serve the same essential function, no matter where in the world they are.

I tend to be drawn to built objects, so even in these "landscapes", most have some man-made component in them.
